Understanding Anxiety Disorder

Anxiety disorder is one of the most common mental disorder around.

Physical symptoms may vary for each individual

Overwhelming fear of being watched / judged / humiliated

Rapid heartbeat

Muscle tension

Dizziness and lightheadedness

Stomach trouble/ Diarrhea

Difficulties breathing

Out-of-body sensation

More than just shyness

It's beyond their control

What Are The Causes?

Physical abnormalities

Environmental factors

Genetic

Negative experiences

An overactive amygdala — the part of the brain that controls your fear response

Catalysing:

Low self-esteem

Negative thoughts

Depression

Sensitivity to criticism

Everyone may has different coping mechanism

It may be harder and more complex for some than others

Personal boundaries are crucial for them

Acting as an invisible protective bubble

Setting boundaries doesn’t make them a bad person

When they are responsible for their health, well-being and safety

Try to understand that for them

Sometimes we all need social distancing for a little space to breathe
