Where Injustice Lingers Like a Stench

Where innocence often goes unproven

Injustice lurks everywhere. You could be strolling through the grocery store, minding your own business, when suddenly… a mass shooter opens fire, a bomb explodes, or you’re snatched from the street.

Will anyone even realize you’re gone?

The cruelty of life lies in its randomness, striking the innocent at any moment. Any day, anytime, anywhere, anyhow and to anyone.

No warning, no escape — it could be you next.

i was ripped away
from the comfort
of my own space
bound by the chains
of injustice
drowned in accusations
dragged to the prison
confined to isolation
in a windowless cell
with no certainty
if i’ll ever see
the daylight again

in the law of their eyes
i was supposed to be
guilty until proven
it’s their words
against mine
where my words
is my only defense
