There’s Always Hope

When you feel the slightest inclination to give, remember this.

No matter how deeply the frost has settled, it is the nature of the seed of hope to bloom through.

look into that mirror
the reflection staring back-
it’s real
that’s you in flesh and blood

know this truth:
you are alive still
for hope’s ember hasn’t died

you need to remember
that you are not unwanted
for every hand that pushed you away
there are just as many
waiting to reach yours

even when that fragile hope feels fleeting
like sand slipping through your grasp
hope will surely find its way back

no matter the crushing weight
or how often despair cast its shadow

hope will seek you out
blooming anew, again and again
for as long as you live
